To build a common world and ensure sustainable development for all, the role of education is crucial. The French President, Emmanuel Macron, has decided to make education one of France’s development assistance priorities and to jointly organize, with the President of Senegal, Macky Sall, the replenishment conference of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) in Dakar scheduled on 2 February 2018.

The mobilization of France, Senegal, GPE and all stakeholders and partners in the sector is driven by the urgent need to take action, first and foremost in Africa, for education and vocational training for young people, in order to support the empowerment of people, economic dynamism and the quality of social ties. France will be taking this opportunity to join the call addressed to the international community and to the responsibility of all States to make the development of quality education for all, as defined in SDG 4, a priority for action to build a common, open, resilient and inclusive world.

In this context, the French Development Agency decided to organize a day of reflection and exchange around the shared challenge of quality education for all.
