Véronique Walbaum holds a Master’s degree in Political Science in International Cooperation from the Sorbonne University. She rapidly specialized in the field of Disaster Risk Management and is the author of a thesis entitled “Natural Disaster Risk Prevention: A Challenge for Development and Humanitarian Actors”. She subsequently worked at the international Red Cross movement for 6 years in various regions and on various Disaster Risk Reduction operational projects (tsunamis, floods, cyclones, volcanic risk), prior to joining Handicap International as Technical Advisor on this theme of inclusive Disaster Risk Management. Consequently, she actively brings the messages of the institution to all the areas of operation, i.e. Asia, Africa, but also Latin America, in order to promote the inclusion of disabled people in its projects and among all actors in this sector.
