Michel Merlet is an agricultural engineer and contractual lecturer at the Institute of Economic and Social Development Studies (IEDES) – University of Paris I, and occasionally in other training institutes in France and abroad. He is specialized in the study of rural land policies, the analysis of agrarian systems, and the governance of natural resources. He works in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America and is a member of the French cooperation “Land & Development” Technical Committee.
Michel Merlet is a director of the international association that aims to contribute to Improving the Governance of Land, Water and Natural Resources (AGTER), which he cofounded in 2005.
