Laurent Kelle, Head of WWF France in French Guyana, Holds an MSc in ecotoxicology. After having worked on various naturalist field inventories he spent one year studying pesticides' pollution on raptors in Paris (France).
In 1997 he joined the Kawana project as a volunteer, where he gradually became more and more involved in the WWF marine turtle program. First as the Kawana project coordinator (1998/1999), then as a Marine Turtle program officer (2000/2002), and since 2003, as the WWF regional coordinator for this program. He has been recently invited to join the UICN/SSC Marine Turtle Specialists Group.
