Laure Grégoire is spokesperson for the French Alliance for Sustainable Palm Oil. For some fifteen years now, she has been assisting companies and organizations in their communication, especially for their CSR strategies.
How to ensure that palm oil production respects the environment and does not cause deforestation? The French Alliance for Sustainable Palm Oil, which was set up in 2013, includes companies that have pledged to source 100% certified sustainable palm oil by the end of 2015. This alliance has 11 members: large groups, such as Nestlé, Unilever and Ferrero, but also SMEs such as Labeyrie Traiteur Surgelés, Vandermoortele, Cérélia…, as well as three federations: the National Alliance of Food Processing Industries (ANIA), Alliance 7 and the National Federation of Oils and Fats Industries. Laure Grégoire, spokesperson for this alliance, explains the issues and why there is a need to go further than the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification, an initiative launched in 2004.
