Laetitia Habchi has been an officer at Agence Française de Développement since 1995. From 2010 to 2013, she was seconded to DBSA (Development Bank of Southern Africa), prior to becoming Head of the Infrastructure Desk at NEPAD Business Foundation in South Africa in 2014. With her passion for this continent and her confidence in the future, she has acquired extensive experience in organizing complex operations and coordinating activities and initiatives between development agencies, the private sector and the public sector.
The BRICS are five countries associated in an economic partnership: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, which has only been a member since 2011. The group’s aim is to handle international affairs without Westerners. It positions itself as a spokesperson for emerging countries, especially Southern countries. It organizes summits every year. Together, these countries account for a fifth of global wealth for two-fifths of the population.
