Gilles Dufrénot is Professor of Economics at Aix-Marseille University and a member of the Marseille School of Economics (AMSE). He is also a research associate at CEPII. He was Professor of Economics at the Universities of Paris XII and Savoy before joining the University of Aix-Marseille. In addition to his academic career, he has provided consulting and expertise to regional and international institutions. He has been advisor to the Commissioner for Economic Policies of the WAEMU Commission (2004-2008) and consultant for the Banque de France. His areas of interest are development policies and economic policies. He is the author of many books. His latest, The poor will revolutionize the 21st century ?, was published in 2018 .
