Christiana Hageneder is an architect and expert in energy efficiency in buildings. She started her career as an architect in Vienna and Paris, with a second master’s degree in facilities and energy management she became a researcher and international project manager for energy efficiency in buildings with over 15 years of experience in the field.
She is an expert evaluator for the European Commission and for the Austrian government. From 2012 – 2017 she was responsible for GIZ’s (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) Energy Efficiency Programme in Ukraine and since January 2018 she is heading the Programme for Energy Efficiency in Buildings-PEEB secretariat in Paris located at Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
PEEB acts under the umbrella of the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction, was initiated by France and Germany and supports globally countries to improve the energy efficiency in their building stock.
