Avinish Jain is a Social Mission Manager working for Unilever. He is based out of Kenya and works closely with country, regional and global brand teams to craft and execute their social missions across hygiene and nutrition brands. He firmly believes that all brands have a social commitment and that brands can be great by doing good.
Prior to that he was working with Danone in a division called Danone Communities which invests in NGOs and transforms them into social businesses. He was in the global team helping and steering the social businesses in India and Bangladesh towards financial and social sustainability.
He has also worked with Ogilvy in India and Vietnam, managing multi-million dollar clients, helping them develop rural marketing approaches, behavior change programs and consumer activation. He was head of division in Vietnam.
He has 13+ years of experience working in South Asia, South East Asia and Africa from rural marketing to social entrepreneurship to meaningful brand social missions.
