Alarming rise of newborn deaths
According to the UN report Levels and Trends in Child Mortality 2017, 7,000 newborn babies died every day in 2016. Newborns’ deaths made up 46% of under-five deaths, a rising proportion. For the Unicef, only one solution: reinforce public health systems and neonatal care.

An urgent appeal for girl education
The NGO One released its report The Toughest Places for a Girl to Get an Education on 11 October, International Day of the Girl Child. More than 130 million girls fail to attend school worldwide. Among the ten countries where the situation is the most critical, 9 African countries and Afghanistan.
