Almost a year after the Paris Agreement, we have to look at the various means that allow us to address the climate challenge. Thibault Laconde reviews the zero emission target which opens up a new scope for action: the production of negative emissions.
When we talk about climate change, we nearly always talk about carbon. Yet carbon dioxide (CO2) is not the only greenhouse gas caused by human activities. The Kyoto Protocol, for example, concerns 6 gases or families of gas. For about twenty years now, this almost exclusive focus on CO2 has fashioned our perception of the fight against climate change as a problem that almost exclusively concerns energy and is necessarily costly. The reality is more complex.
