Ӧzge Berber Ağtaş is Program and Administrative Officer at ILO Turkey (International Labour Organization). She studied public administration at the Faculty of Political Science in Ankara and obtained a Master's Degree in the same specialty and at the same university, and subsequently a second Master’s Degree at the Global Labour University in globalization and studies on labor. Her areas of interest include gender equality in society, employment policies, international labor standards, the international trade union movement, international migration, supply chains, and corporate social responsibility policies. She has been working at the ILO Turkey office since 2009.

Turkey: “The fight for gender equality at work needs to be addressed in SMEs”

Turkey is in the rear car of OECD countries in terms of gender equality on the labor market. This problem can only be solved by taking action in SMEs, explains Özge Berber Ağtaş, a representative of the International Labour Organization (ILO), who was invited to AFD’s panel discussion on “Access to and retention in high-quality employment for women in Turkey”.
