Oswald Padonou holds a doctorate in political science from Université de Rennes 1. He is an adviser to the General Staff of the Beninese Armed Forces, Chair of the Association Béninoise d’Études Stratégiques et de Sécurité (Beninese Association of Strategic and Security Studies – ABESS), and teaches in universities and military academies in Benin and Côte d’Ivoire.
From 2016 to 2020, he coordinated the Konrad Adenauer Foundation’s program for security dialog in Sub-Saharan Africa. He has also authored several publications.
He is the sponsor of the 14th class of officers trained at the École Nationale des Officiers (ENO) in Benin and has been named Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.
