Dr. Joren Verschaeve is a post-doctoral assistant at the Centre for EU Studies of Ghent University and a lecturer on quantitative research methods at the Department of Political Science of Ghent University. He joined the CEUS in October 2011 and obtained his doctoral degree in EU studies in July 2015, focusing on EU development cooperation at large and the relationship between the EU and the OECD-DAC more specific. During his PhD research, Joren has been a visiting scholar at the Centre d͛études Européennes – Sciences Po in Paris (2013). His main interests, expertise and teaching experience covers the area of EU external policy, with a particular emphasis on EU development policies and the relationship between the EU and international institutions. In doing so, particular attention is paid to the topics of financing for development and policy coherence for development.
