Jean Luc Poncelet, Master in Public Health, tropical medicine and General practitioner. He worked more than 35years with United Nations agencies, civil society and disaster preparedness, response and vulnerability reduction government structures. Engaged by the WHO in 1985 as epidemiologist for refugee crisis in central America, he then worked as disaster management regional advisor. He was the regional director of PAHO/WHO disaster preparedness and risk reduction program (2002-2013). As Haiti/WHO representative from 2013 to 2017 he direct the cholera response in support to national authorities and in coordination with multiple organizations. Since end of 2017, he works as disaster program evaluator or in humanitarian emergency mission with Private Consulting institutions, WFP, EU and WHO in Mali, Haiti, Burundi and Yemen.
