Jean-Jacques ELEDJAM is a medical doctor and university professor – a hospital practitioner specialized in anesthesia-resuscitation and emergency medicine. He has devoted his entire career to the public hospital system in the region close to his heart, Languedoc-Roussillon. He was senior registrar and subsequently hospital practitioner in Nîmes and went on to join the Montpellier University Hospital Centre (CHRU) in 2001. From 2008 to 2012, he was in charge of the University Department for accidents and emergencies and admissions by the ambulance service (SAMU) and became coordinator of the “Emergency” Unit. Jean-Jacques Eledjam also became a member of the French Hospital Federation (FHF) and was appointed member of the Public Health Council (HCSP). He is innately close to emergency-rescue services and social action and in 2004 joined the French Red Cross. He headed the Languedoc-Roussillon regional delegation prior to being elected national administrator in June 2011. On 22 June 2013, he was elected National President by the Board of Directors.
On 1 January 2014, he was made Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor.
