Franck Galtier is a French senior research economist at CIRAD, UMR MOISA (Montpellier, France) with 20 years-experience in agricultural markets, food crises and food policies in developing countries. His research topics encompass both markets (analyzing how their organization affects their performance) and policies to improve markets’ performance or make up for their failures. During the last years, he worked intensively on two main topics: food price instability (causes, consequences and ways to manage it both inside developing countries and on international markets) and role of public stocks for improving food security in developing countries. Franck used to live in West Africa and the Caribbean and is now based in Montpellier (South of France).
