Esperanza González-Mahecha is an economist and statistics specialist at the National University of Colombia. Her areas of work include climate change, public policy formulation, optimization models and sustainable buildings. She is currently a consultant in the Climate Change Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Before the IDB, Esperanza was part of the Center for Energy and Environmental Economics (CENERGIA) in Rio de Janeiro. Esperanza holds a master’s and a doctorate in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ in Brazil.
