Eric Fleutelot is Technical Director of the ‘Major Pandemics’ unit (Health Department of Expertise France, which includes the 5% Initiative), Éric Fleutelot has a very strong background in the areas of community health care, programmes & grant management, and advocacy.
From 2014 to 2019, he was posted in Bangkok, as Regional Counsellor in Global Health in South East Asia for France. Éric Fleutelot was in charge of overseeing French health investments (primarily through multilateral contributions) and public health policies in 10 countries (Myanmar, Lao PDR, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, Philippines). In addition, Eric Fleutelot conducted a regular follow-up on maternal and children health, sexual and reproductive health, nutrition and gender issues. Linking high-level scientific research and teams with public health policy-makers was also among his tasks.
Previously, from 2006 to 2014, as Deputy CEO of Sidaction, a France-based HIV/Aids NGO, he was in charge of International affairs and programmes. While holding this position, Eric Fleutelot developed numerous access to prevention, care and treatment programmes in resource-limited countries mainly in Africa.
Eric Fleutelot was made Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Mérite in 2007.
