Corinne Balleix is a political scientist and author of several publications on European public policies, including: La France et la Banque centrale européenne, PUF: collection « Politique d’aujourd’hui », 1999; L’aide européenne au développement, La Documentation française: collection « Réflexe Europe », 2010, and, La politique migratoire de l’Union européenne, La Documentation française, collection « Réflexe Europe », 2013.
While her first publication was based on her Ph.D. in political science, her other books have been informed by her professional experience: as a representative for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brussels, and subsequently in Paris, she participated in French and European research on the adoption of Community legislation on development assistance. She was formerly an UNHCR assessor for the Refugee Appeals Board, and more recently rapporteur at the National Court on the Right of Asylum, and is confronted with the reality of asylum applications.
Corinne Balleix is a lecturer at Sciences-Po Paris and also lectures at the Institute of Economic and Social Development Studies (IEDES) of the University of Paris 1, at the University of Evry-Val d’Essonne, and for the IEP sustainable development certificate in Aix-en-Provence.
