

After having completed two masters degrees in entrepreneurship (from EDC) and development economics (from Paris X), Antoine Horellou started his professional carreer in 2005 as project manager for an NGO in Niger, before joining international network Ashoka. In 2006, he created the Seatizens movement, which promotes social entrepreneurship in the maritime world. Between 2007 and 2014, he co-managed the NGO Earth Roofs -Voûte Nubienne, which enabled dozens of thousand people in Western Africa to reach a low-carbon quality housing and a lifelong job. In 2015, he founded BOPS - Base of the Pyramid Solutions -, with the aim of boosting social innovations at the Base of the Pyramid (BoP) through advices, advocacy, funds, and operations on the field. BOPS focuses on market-based development strategies and inclusive business to fight poverty. BOPS worked with several social start-ups: Ashoka France, Nubian Vault Association (affordable housing in West Africa), Watever (floatable solutions in Bangladesh), 450 (carbon finance in France), LAGAZEL (off grid electricity in Africa), Cool Roof France (a building solution for energy efficiency and fight climate change). He became simultaneously Executive Director of CoolRoof France in early 2017.
