Alexia Levesque is “Vocational Training” project team manager at AFD’s Education-Training-Employment Division. She graduated in Public Law and Human Resources Management and joined AFD in 2016. “Supporting youth integration does not solely depend on flow management”

The increasing duration of schooling drives sub-Saharan African countries to build differentiated paths based on secondary education. For Valérie Tehio and Alexia Levesque, we need to move beyond this logic of flow management.

For them, preparing the economic and social integration of young people requires considering the skills that need to be developed and distinguishing between flow management for a mass of students and support towards professionalization.
