To mark the 6th Convergences 2015 World Forum, an interview with Pierre Fonlupt, Chairman of PLUS Group and President of the Commission on New Dialogues, Medef (French Business Federation).
Associations and companies are increasingly favoring an approach based on consultation or co-construction. But how to come up with innovative solutions together? How to combine the forces of everyone as effectively as possible?
For Pierre Fonlupt, the main condition for a successful partnership between an association and a company is mutual respect. The aim of co-construction is to invent new ways of working together and provide a solution to a problem that is of interest to both parties. While the talents and know-how of a company are added to the talents and know-how of an association, it can also give rise to an original operating method that one would not have been able to create without the other.
“A hybrid set-up that reconciles an association’s assets and a company’s assets is one of the solutions to meeting the challenges of tomorrow.”
The pharmaceutical sector is a good example. Extremely fruitful partnerships are being developed in this sector that allow progress to be made on rare diseases and drugs, which companies would be unable to work on without associations, due to solvency or investment problems. At the same time, without companies, associations would be unable to develop activities to meet the challenges.
For the President of the Medef Commission on New Dialogues, everything has yet to be invented in terms of partnerships. A hybrid set-up that reconciles an association’s assets and a company’s assets is one of the solutions that will certainly help meet the challenges of tomorrow.
